Once in Rome was painted during my time living in the city, shaped by a connection that was intense, emotional, and short-lived. What began with excitement and promise burned fast and ended in heartbreak.

Inspired by the presence of the Colosseum, a structure that has witnessed centuries of intensity and still stands. This piece reflects resilience after emotional extremes. The warmth and glow within the painting hint at what once felt alive, while the stillness that follows speaks to clarity, strength, and the ability to remain standing after everything has passed. More than a memory of love, it represents growth and lessons carried forward.
